azuzephre's Pon and Zi and his other illustrations

20 year old Jeff Thomas, an art student, also known as azuzephre is the artist of the widespread series, Pon and Zi. You can find this series as well as some of his other illustrations at deviantart and azuzephre.net, a lot of people also go to www.ponandzi.com which is created by fans of Pon and Zi and not by Jeff himself.

Some assumed that Jeff is gay, possibly because of his artworks and this illustration:

His reaction in reply to someone's comment on his deviantart profile asking if he is in fact gay:
"I'm actually asexual. I'm not sexually attracted to either gender.

I've dated both guys and girls, and it doesn't bother me if people assume I'm gay, so identifying myself as asexual isn't a way to dodge any criticism. I protested against Prop 8 here in California, and yeah.

But since you asked, that's what I am."

love your earth: INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION

Love your earth is an international design competition which was held by Designboom and DA - design association japan in 2007.

"as each day goes by the problems facing the earth become more
and more apparent, its quite clear that many things must change
and sooner rather than later. throughout history graphic design
has proved itself as one of the best means to instigate a change in
society and communicate the urgency of action. in this competition
we were looking for graphic artworks that raise awareness of the
environmental issues affecting our delicate planet and provoke a
positive change in the many things that are compromising
our biosphere."

The winners and some of the other entrants, delivered interesting designs, but how is this going to change the earth in a positive way? If the people likes a design it will surely raise awareness. A picture can go just that far. Here are some of the designs:
